Are you FND aware?
We were excited when one of our Australia FACEBOOK members posted this video in our support group. It has been such an inspiring video to so many others diagnosed with FND. We want to thank Miranda for sharing her journey with the world. We would also like to thank Jeff for providing a way for Miranda’s story to be heard and for giving us permission to post it to our site.
October 9-10, 2015 Emory University Ethics department held the first ever American conference to specifically discuss functional illness. The conference entitled “Controversial Labels and Medical Uncertainties” was part of the Mark and Barbara Klein Mind-Body Conference. The conference was two days of group discussions and presentations given by leading medical professionals in the fields of neurology and psychology. Our FND Hope founder, Bridget Mildon, was invited to participate and represent patients. She also was asked to give opening remarks where she spoke about FND Hope as an organization. Mildon also spoke about the importance of respecting one another’s different perspective and acknowledging their “truth”.
