My name is Amyre Dennis. I was diagnosed with FND in 2023 after weeks of unexplained debilitating symptoms. Symptoms like seizures, a stutter, migraines, and paralysis left me wondering if I’d ever travel again. Thanks to FND Hope, I discovered a supportive community and reignited my passion for global connection. From losing the ability to walk, talk, and function normally, I was blessed to find treatment and begin my recovery. My love for global engagement wasn’t something I had to leave behind because of my FND diagnosis. I have a bachelor’s degree in Global and International Studies and a master’s degree in Organizational Change Leadership from Western Michigan University. I love to travel. I’ve been to 12 countries and counting. My goal is to support FND patients all over the world. We may speak different languages, but the desire to feel better is a universal language.
