SANTA GAVE ME A DUD
KIERAN
My name is Kieran and I’m 16. I enjoy composing new music and playing music on the piano, performing magic and designing new grand illusions. However when I was 12 years old, on Christmas Day, I fell sick with Conversion/Functional Neurological Disorder.
Over the course of the last four years after that Christmas day, I have had many different symptoms such as; tics, Seizures, Hypokinesia (Freezes), Ballism, Dystonia, Hallucinations, Action and Resting Tremors, Speech Disorder, Gait Disorder, anxiety, uncontrollable acts of violent behaviour, loss of voice and the inability to open my eyes and see.
Even though I’ve had a fair few struggles with all of this I have found something that has really helped me out throughout this whole ordeal. Magic. At first it started out as just knowing a few card tricks but over time it kept growing and growing until eventually I started to go out and perform for people and then after that started to get paid to perform magic at events and parties.
Magic has been a great source of a calming effect on me and has really helped me to get through the last four years. And I’m now aiming to get my own Illusion Show going so I’m very excited to see where that line of magic will take me. Even though I have this disorder it cannot stop me from realising my dreams of performing my illusion show live on stage.
